This week has literally been SO full of everything. Mostly all good, but the hard things... they were devastating. Goodness Gracious.
ON THE SPIRITUAL SIDE:
Last thursday, we had a lesson about "listening" to the needs of your investigators. I was pretending to be the investigator, my companion was the holy ghost, and my missionaries were sister Simmons and Sister Mathers. Sister Chacon (teacher) gave me the challenge to be an investigator who's father recently passed away and I didn't believe in god cause if there was one, how could he just let my father die? At first, it was so hard to be in character cause every time I'd get in character someone (Sister Simmons) would start cracking up, causing me to crack up, causing us all to crack up. But I got serious. This ACTUALLY happens to people all the time. Like, this is real. I got WAY into character. Sister Mathers started talking about how loving our Heavenly Father was and then I asked "if there was a god, how could he just let my dad die?" **took out some of the story for time and other purposes.** I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of the gospel. i am so lucky to be part of this great work. God loves us SO much. It is amazing. THIS is why I am on a mission. To give this love and knowledge to others.
OH!! and surprise!! Sister Johnson and I were called as sister training leaders!! we were seriously THE LAST companionship that we imagined would be called. Elder Hansen (second counselor in the branch pres) told us that we weren't called just because they like us... they don't need to like us, it was "as we were sitting in our meeting deciding who we should call, we knew it would be you. The spirit was so strong with all 4 of you" (Sis Training Leaders and Zone Leaders) Cool right? I think its quite the job to keep up with!
Also, Monday was our last night with our favorite avanzados. SO! we decided to sing "As Sisters in Zion/To Bring the World His Truth" at the door that blocks off the hallway from boys to girls dormitories. It was amazing. We are literally part of the Army of Helaman. STRONG STRONG spiritual moment. We then sang "Para Siempre Dios Este Con Vos" which also brought the spirit. It brought us all to tears. We all hugged and it was just awesome... well the Hermanas all hugged on our side of the door. Then some boys shoved like 1654 castidad pamphlets under the door, they got in trouble, but it's all bueno now. We went to talk to the Presidente the next day, and he was pretty chill.
UPDATE:
Hermana Simmons went to the Doctor on Monday for her MRI results. She completely severed her ACL, and compression fractured her femur at the medical condyle. When we heard this, we didn't know what to do say. Presidente said she might leave in 2 days, she might leave in 2 weeks! The surgery needs to be done, and the recovery is 6 months long. It was hard to hear, but we all found ways to comfort her.
Yesterday though, she was called out of class with her companion, and she got the final results. She leaves tonight at 9:30. Right as she told us, actually, right as she was entering the room to tell us, our hearts just fell. I loved her SO MUCH! Keep her in your prayers, K? :)
I love my district SO much! I can literally confide in them in everything! Its fantastic! We sing everyday in class. For cereals, someone could just start humming a hymn and within 10 seconds, everyone is joining along. We then went to Totus (peruvian small walmart) and then to the temple store where I bought scripture cases and also my BOM in español.
The new girls came in today, and that was awesome! I know one of them! She was in my Stats class senior year! When I saw her name on the roster yesterday, I was taken aback so much! Like...What?? Cool. Cool. Chevere. Chevere.
To the future missionaries coming out: Learn to love everyone around you. It'll be so helpful for when you actually get here! Also, the pictures that are coming your way are of me and my favorita Sister Simmons... with Elder Leavitt in the background of 2, and elder tanner in the background of just one.
