I don't have much to report this week! I mean, it was good, just nothing particularly special!
The president/coordinator of all the international MTC's was visiting (Brother Steinagel) and he was the original person that came up with the idea for the video! They called 4 missionaries from the Sofia, Bulgaria mission to open up the Turkey mission! They had no idea how to speak the language, no idea about the people there, it was all new! They got a turkish teacher who told them to learn 100 words a day and memorize a passage of scripture each day as well! Within 3 months of being in the field, they spoke fluently. It really was a perfect motivator at the perfect time! Learning 152 words/day! kind of... I really just need to try my best and the Lord will edify me beyond my imagination!
A big emphasis this week was definitely personal revelation. Continual prayer and continual reading with real intent is the key! Moroni 10:4-5. There's your answer. If God created man in his own image, dont you think he'd want us to feel his love? To feel of his grand blessings? After all His work and His glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. i think the biggest problem that investigators have is that they're expecting some BIG Sign, When the spirit comes in a quiet way, in feelings of peace and tranquility. WE really need to be in the right mind, and have a sincere heart to receive it! :) I think there's a scripture about that in Helaman 6? :)
Anywho! This is my last week here at the CCM! I dont think I told you this, but i got proselyting with local missionaries from the Lima East and Lima South this Saturday! It's pretty recent here at the CCM! Me? in Lima? Teach people? SO COOL! SO EXCITED! I think we go for like 5 hours!
Oh! Also, with the absense of Sister Simmons we're now a Trio! Someone nicknamed us the powerpuff girls. Sister Johnson is Bubbles, Sister Mather is Blossom and I'm Buttercup! Totes fits our personalities! Haha, but in all honesty, the first two or three days were rough, but we talked through it and we're awesome now! Powerful-powerful lessons! After each lesson we take time to talk about what we can improve on, what we can do better and what we did do good, what we thought abut our investigator's progress.. Its great. Our investigators are awesome this time! Nothing wrong with out last ones, but since we're progressing with our spanish, we have been able to understand more and know how to respond better.
its amazing seeing my companions improve every day! The sisters and Hermanas in my district-- District 109, Ammon, are fantastic! OH how I love them! I will seriously miss them so much! No idea how i'm going to part with them.
Cool things that happneed this week.
- We got PANCAKES for breakfast! We usually get really greasy eggs and such.. not complaining or anything, but the pancakes were definitely a needed change!
- Fried Chicken
- Brownies.
- We did Yoga in class! Sister Mather is a yoga instructor back at home, or at least certified to teach it.. so we did yoga when we were all feeling a little tired :)
- Temple was Awesome, I was personally a little tired, but I feel like every time I go, I learn something new. I really love the temple! I'm going to miss it these next 17 months!
- i got some cool stuff for dem boys at home.
- We have had 2 awesome devotionals! and the translator was really good this time! I thought he had written out a script, but nope! He translated as he went.
- IT'S PDAY AND I'M WRITING YOU ALL!!! Oh the joy of being a missionary.
Being a missionary is seriously one of the best decisions you can make in this life. In the temple today, I was thinking about how much this will benefit my children in the future, and how much this will benefit those who are around me! Oh how I love you momma and papi! I really wish you could see all that goes on in here! Keep me updated!!
